正规博彩十大网站排名 Libraries celebrated Open Access Week 2024 from October 21-23 with events for faculty, staff, and students, from a speaker series to a jeopardy-style Name That Patent game to an escape room. The Libraries have hosted events for Open Access Week since 2018 (view our past presentations and workshops).
Open access is a framework for the free and immediate online availability to use, download, and share information, articles, and research on a global scale. The movement aims to promote knowledge sharing without paywalls, subscription fees, or other barriers to knowledge. Creators can share their work freely with others via Creative Commons licenses that provide easy-to-understand reuse permissions. Think about it this way: if funding for research is typically covered by the government and intended to advance the public good, shouldn't that research be free to access and read by anyone, anywhere?
Every October, Open Access Week is celebrated here at 正规博彩十大网站排名 and internationally! SPARC, the Scholarly Publishing and Academic Resources Coalition, hosts and encourages global participation. This year, the theme was Community over Commercialization, promoting dialogue about open scholarship practices that widely benefit both the public and academia.
If you missed our OPEN Talks event, speaker slides can be found in the Institutional Repository.
Mark your calendars for Love Data Week in February 2025 and All Things Open Week in April 2025!
